The NucleoProtect® VET molecular transport reagent has been developed for the stabilization, transportation and inactivation of infectious veterinary specimens and allows veterinarians and farmers to safely collect swab or animal whole blood samples for molecular diagnostic purposes. The reagent is available in three different formats:
• pre-filled syringes for blood collection: NucleoProtect VET Blood Tube
• swab collection tubes: NucleoProtect VET Swab Tube
• Bottled reagent: NucleoProtect VET Reagent
The intuitive design including peel-able barcodes allows easy sampling on farms or in the wild. Infectious viruses are immediately inactivated within the NucleoProtect® VET solution, enabling safe handling for both veterinarians and for laboratory staff. Inactivated samples reduce the risk of laboratory-acquired infections and spread of diseases.
The non-hazardous NucleoProtect® VET reagent reliably preserves nucleic acids within the sample for molecular testing. This makes cold chain logistics obsolete and increases accuracy and reliability of test results. Samples collected in NucleoProtect® VET can also be transferred directly to pre-analytical nucleic acid extraction procedures, streamlining molecular testing and saving time in your laboratory routine.
