Samples with high concentrations of chloride are problematic for COD determination. A high chloride content causes wrong measurement results. Conventionally, the chloride must be expelled at great expense, or the sample must be pretreated by dilution or masking. This test kit is suitable for chloride-containing wastewater, surface water and seawater with chloride concentrations of 2–18 g/L Cl-.
