Online seminar - Microscopy 2.0 simple, precise and fast, December 06, 2022

The measurement of chemical parameters in the influent and effluent of wastewater treatment plants is an established system. Chemical parameters can be used to monitor biological plants. Another alternative is microscopy. With the help of microscopy, samples of the plant can be monitored for changes in the light field.

An innovation in wastewater treatment plant monitoring is quantitative PCR (qPCR): qPCR is a method that can detect and quantify microorganisms based on their genetic material (DNA/RNA). In our new offering, we use this analytic to specifically monitor microorganisms such as Microthrix or nitrifiers that can cause plant operational problems.

Advantages of qPCR compared to classical measurement methods
- Precise and accurate measurement method
- Reduction of costs through targeted and early application of countermeasures
- Prevention of operational disturbances
- Low workload due to MN services

The presentation language will be German.

Content:
- Presentation of the new qPCR service from MN in cooperation with DyeNA Genetics.
- Presentation of the parameters: Microthrix, nitrifiers& denitrifiers, methanogens.
- Field reports
- Question & Answer session
