Together for water protection

Swimming through a river from its source to the mouth. Sounds strange, but is a full committment to research and the will to improve environment. Andreas Fath, Professor of chemistry at Furtwangen University already gained a lot of national and international attention by completing the Rhine and Tennesse rivers.
In spring 2022 he is set to swim the entire length of the danube, Europes second longest river.
His aim is to draw attention to the water quality of our rivers. Therefore, this project is accompanied by a variaty of activities, such as clean-ups, lectures and information events along the project route.
During the whole journey he takes water samples and investigates them in a mobile laboratory. Pollutants and the waste water it contains are the focus of his research.
MACHEREY-NAGEL is proud to support this project with instruments and test kits for wateranalysis.
